Government Polytechnic, Bhagalpur was established as Bhagalpur School
of Engineering with aim of providing quality higher education in the field
of Engineering & Technology on par with National Standards. It persistently
seeks and adopts innovative methods to improve the quality of higher education on a consistent basis.
It is spread in an area of nearly 50 acres with four lush green campuses namely
Main Campus, Kanchangarh Campus,ShreeBhawan Campus and Lakshmi BhawanCampus,
not far from the bank of the River Ganga at Barari.It is situated at a distance
of nearly 9 Km East to Bhagalpur Railway Station and 20 Km North to Naugachhia Railway Station. The Latitudes and Longitudes are 25.2599ON and 87.0274OE.
The Institution was established on 31st May 1955 with its name Bhagalpur School of
Engineering under the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of Bihar which
was later rechristened to its present name.Initially Institution was started with Diploma
in Civil Engineering with 30 intake capacity, which was later increased to 60.Diploma
in Agricultural Engineering was started in 1977 with 20 intake capacity, which was
later increased to 30.In 1992, Diploma in Textile Technology & Textile Design was
started with 30 intake capacity and the branch was renamed as Diploma in Textile
Engineering in the year of 2008.Two latest and employment generating Diploma in
Electronics Engineering and Diploma in Computer Science & Engineering were
commenced with intake capacity of 60 each.

public works such as roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, and railways.
Agricultural engineering is an engineering discipline that deals with the design of farm machinery,
the location and planning of farm structures, farm drainage, water supply and irrigation,
rural electrification, and the processing of farm products.
Textile engineering is a popular field of engineering that deals with materials like cotton,
fibers, yarns, and other materials used in clothing products and accessories. It is primarily
concerned with the development and manufacture of textile fabric used in the apparel industry.
